Gloop is a really interesting mixture with a unique texture for children to explore and play with. Playing with Gloop is a wonderful sensory and science activity to learn about the concepts of what a solid is ? And what a liquid is?
hat you need to make gloop.
- Corn Flour (Corn Starch)
- Water
- Food Colouring
How you make gloop:
- To make gloop use a large shallow food storage container/ bowl and add some corn flour to it.
- Then in a jug mix together some water and your food colouring depending on the colours you want to use.
- Into the corn flour pour a little of the coloured water at a time and mix preferably with your hands.
- It is a really interesting material to work with however; it feels really odd mixing it. Eventually once it gets to the preferred consistency (where it goes solid when moulded and then liquid when released) you can put it on a little table with a messy mat underneath it and lots of animals to explore with in the material.
Tip: Adding small toys such as animals are a great way to explore this material. (If preferred you can use Custard Powder instead of cornflour)
