Looking for a fun way to help your children learn new words over the summer? Try playing “I spy .” Usually, the game involves looking for things that begin with a certain letter: “I spy with my little eye something beginning with S”. Your child then has to name objects beginning with the letter S, until they guess one you were thinking of. You can adapt it to suit children at different levels. You can also mix it up: look for things that are a certain colour, a certain shape, things that are really big, small, tall, hard, or soft. Take turns, so that children can practice the social skill of turn taking. Enjoy!
