Because, yes, being a parent is the most important job in the world but the actual physical process of becoming a parent isn’t always textbook or straight forward. Join Denise Philips on her journey through IVF. When I was asked to write a background on myself my first thought was, were do I start? Do I tell people how hard I fought to have a baby the first time round? The unexplained infertility, the miscarriage, the 9 failed intrauterine inseminations (IUI), the 2 cancelled cycles or the fact I’m on my next IVF journey? Well here it goes…

My name is Denise Phillips. I married Mark at the age of 28, and off we set on our IVF journey, which was successful and we now have a daughter called Beth. Here we are again at 32 starting it all over again. The last time we told nobody as I felt like such a failure that I couldn’t have a baby that I was having multiple failed IUI’s. This time round its different: I’m allowing a camera crew to document my every move, from scans to tests to tears to breakdowns. I’m showing how I’m fighting for a baby.
